Writing Competition: Financial Literacy
The “How Will You Build a Brighter Financial Future” writing competition is two-fold. Not only do young authors have the opportunity to hone their writing skills, but the theme encourages youth to seriously contemplate how you plan to have a solid financial future. Sponsored by Planting People Growing Justice Press, the goal of the competition is to inspire our youth to build a culture of wealth and support community development.
Guideline for How Will You Build a Brighter Financial Future Competition:
Submission Deadline: April 30, 2023
We welcome submissions from youth living in Minnesota, who are in grades 3rd through 12th.
Word Count: No less than 1,000 words in the following categories:
- Fiction or Creative Fiction
- Prose or Poetry
Writing prompts to consider in developing your story:
- How do you define financial literacy?
- What is the meaning of wealth creation?
- What tools and strategies are needed to support financial wellness in your family and community?
25 Winners will receive:
$50 and a copy of the published book.
