Three Submission Programs for Literary Journals – Submission Manager
This is the second in a three-part series reviewing Content Submission Services (CMS).
Submission Manager
Submission Manager is a second popular submission system and unlike Submittable (which can be used to submit everything from résumés to grant applications) this system is used exclusively to submit to a to literary magazine or press. For writers, you fill out the initial form with your contact information. If you are making multiple submissions, you provide the titles in the submission title block and separate them by commas.
Some changes include the following: originally Submission Manager and Submittable used very similar submission pages, but institutions purchasing Submission Manager can customize fonts and colors to coordinate with their web site for a seamless integration. The system also manages reading periods, so neither authors or writers must contend with submitting or receiving work when it is not being accepted.
Submission Manager is sold exclusively by the Community of Literary Magazines and Presses (CLMP), a nonprofit organization dedicated to ensuring the strength of small literary publishers, while communicating value of literary magazines to authors and readers. The cost of Submission Manager is $200.
